As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
I recently attended the Blanton family reunion in my hometown of Shelby. This is my dad's family and since he passed away in 1989, I try very hard to honor him by my presence at the runion.
Daddy valued family, faith, and education. He helped put many students through college with part-time employment at our stores. It was not unusual for him to slip the children in the family a little cash for the weekend or gas money.
When Bill Blanton died, our family knew we had to establish a scholarship fund. We set it up through the church to benefit local high school students.\
Ten years into awarding scholarships, I am proud to say that a family of moderate means has helped 26 students with $33,000!
